IPTV on Roku: What Works and How to Set It Up

For years, Roku had almost no proper IPTV apps. That has changed: the Roku Streaming Store now has IPTV players that accept an Xtream Codes login or an M3U link. This guide shows which ones to try with our 4K IPTV service, how to add them to your Roku, and what to do if your model or country doesn't have them yet.

How to add an IPTV app to your Roku

  1. Press Home on your Roku remote.

  2. Open the Streaming Store (or use Search on the home screen).

  3. Search for Smarters Pro or Antena Play.

  4. Open the app page, check the publisher, and select Add app.

  5. Follow any prompts, then open the app from your home screen.

App not in the store? Availability depends on your Roku model and country. Try the other app, or use one of the options further down this page.

Add your Strong IPTV Fox login

  1. Open the app and choose the Xtream Codes login (it may be called "Xtream" or "Login with server").

  2. Enter the server URL, username and password from our WhatsApp message, exactly as written.

  3. Save and wait while the app loads your channels.

Using an M3U link instead? Choose the M3U or playlist URL option and paste the full link. In Antena Play, add the TV guide link we send you in the guide (EPG) field so the program info shows up.

Some Roku IPTV apps let you enter the login from your phone by scanning a code on the screen. If yours offers it, it's much faster than typing with the Roku remote.

No IPTV app on your Roku? Two easy alternatives

  1. Plug a streaming stick into the same TV.

A Fire TV Stick or an Android TV box goes into a free HDMI port next to your Roku and runs the most complete IPTV players, with the full TV guide and catch-up. It's the setup we recommend if you watch a lot of live TV. See IPTV on Firestick and IPTV box and Android TV.

  2. Mirror your phone or computer to the Roku.

Many Roku devices support screen mirroring from Android phones and Windows PCs, and some models support AirPlay from an iPhone. Play the channel in an IPTV app on your phone and send it to the TV. It works for a game or a film, but picture quality and stability depend on your Wi-Fi, so it's not ideal for 4K.

Tips for smooth IPTV on Roku

  • Use Ethernet if your Roku has a network port, or the 5 GHz Wi-Fi network for 4K.
  • Restart the Roku from Settings › System › Power › System restart if an app freezes.
  • Keep Roku OS updated: Settings › System › System update.
  • Choose the HD or SD version of a channel when your connection slows down.

Roku IPTV questions

Can you watch IPTV on Roku?

Yes. Roku now has IPTV players such as Smarters Pro and Antena Play that accept Xtream Codes and M3U. Availability depends on your model and country.

What is the best IPTV player for Roku?

Try Smarters Pro from Tech Smarters first, and Antena Play if it's not available or you want several playlists. If neither works on your model, a Fire TV Stick on the same TV is the most reliable option.

Is there catch-up on Roku IPTV apps?

It depends on the app. If catch-up matters to you, a Fire TV Stick or an Android TV box with TiviMate gives you the full catch-up experience.

Does Roku TV work the same as a Roku stick?

Yes. TVs with Roku built in use the same Streaming Store and the same steps as Roku sticks and boxes.

Can I use my subscription on Roku and my phone at the same time?

One account streams on one screen at a time. To watch on both at once, choose 2 screens on our IPTV subscription page.
