IPTV Box and Android TV Setup Guide

An Android TV box, a Google TV device or a smart TV running Android TV is one of the easiest ways to watch our 4K IPTV service. Every app in this guide installs from the Google Play Store, so there's nothing to sideload: pick an IPTV player, add the login we send you, and you're watching in a few minutes.

Which devices does this guide cover?

  • Android TV boxes and streaming boxes that have the Google Play Store, such as Nvidia Shield TV and other certified Android TV boxes.
  • Google TV devices, such as Google TV Streamer and Chromecast with Google TV.
  • Smart TVs running Google TV or Android TV, including many Sony, TCL and Philips models.

Have a Fire TV Stick? Follow our IPTV on Firestick guide instead. Samsung and LG TVs use their own systems and have separate guides.

What is the best IPTV box?

You don't need an expensive box. What matters for smooth IPTV is:

  • Google Play Store built in, so apps install and update safely.
  • 4K and HDR support if you want to watch our 4K channels.
  • At least 2 GB of RAM and some free storage for the player app and its TV guide.
  • Ethernet or Wi-Fi 5/6: about 15 Mbps for HD and 40 Mbps for 4K.

A certified Android TV or Google TV streaming box that ticks these boxes will run every app below. Not sure about your model? Send us its name on WhatsApp and we'll tell you before you subscribe.

All three work with Xtream Codes and M3U and show the TV guide (EPG). On AIDO TV, catch-up, the full guide and more than one playlist need Premium. App prices are set by the app makers and can change; we don't sell or include these apps.

How to install an IPTV app on Android TV

  1. On Google TV (Google TV Streamer, Chromecast with Google TV, recent smart TVs)

    1. On the home screen, select Search, or press the Assistant button on your remote.

    2. Type or say the app name, for example TiviMate.

    3. Select the app and choose Install.

  1. On the Android TV home screen (Nvidia Shield, Android TV boxes, older smart TVs)

    1. From the home screen, open Apps, then Google Play Store.

    2. Search for the app name.

    3. Select the app and choose Install, then Open.

Can't find the app? Google Play only shows apps that work on your device. Check the spelling first, then message us your box model on WhatsApp.

Tips for smooth IPTV on your Android box

  • Use Ethernet for 4K whenever the box has a network port. On Wi-Fi, connect to the 5 GHz network.
  • Restart the box once in a while, and after system updates.
  • Clear the app cache if channels load slowly: Settings › Apps › the app › Clear cache (not Clear data).
  • Keep the player app updated from Google Play.
  • Switch to the HD or SD version of a channel if your connection slows down.

Still buffering? Send us the channel name and your box model on WhatsApp and we'll check it with you.

IPTV box questions

Do I need to buy a special IPTV box?

No. Any Android TV or Google TV device with the Google Play Store works, including many smart TVs you may already own. We don't sell boxes; you only need our subscription and a free player app.

Is TiviMate or Smarters Pro better on Android TV?

TiviMate is better if you mostly watch live TV with the guide. Smarters Pro is easier if you watch a lot of movies and series, because they're in separate sections. Both work with our login.

Can I use an IPTV player on my Android phone too?

Yes. Smarters Pro and AIDO TV also have phone versions on Google Play. One account streams on one screen at a time, so to watch on the TV and the phone together, choose 2 screens on our IPTV subscription page.

Does it work on a Sony, TCL or Philips TV?

Yes, if the TV runs Google TV or Android TV and has the Google Play Store. Look for "Google TV" or "Android TV" in the TV's settings or on its box.

Do I need a VPN on my Android TV box?

No. A VPN is built into our server. If you already use a VPN app on your box, the service works with it too.
